This print maps the victims of Communism in Prague within the words of Milada Horakova, a politician in Prague, herself a victim under both the Nazis and the Communists.
There are 381,499 extremely small characters in the design, each representing one of the victims. They are individually coloured according to the victims' fates. The text is derived from Horakova's letters to her loved ones from prison. One
x, in bold, represents Milada Horakova herself.
A series of keys were created to draw the viewers gradually into the piece and guide them through the map's colour code.
The piece was inspired by text on
Prague's memorial to the victims of Communism.
